Water-Saving Fixtures: Showerheads.

Plumbing fixtures are far more efficient than they used to be, doing the same job with a lot less water. Water-saving fixtures are now required in many areas by building and plumbing codes.

Low-Flow Showerheads

Taking shorter showers is one way to cut down on excess water use. But if you prefer a longer shower (especially on those cold days!!) you should consider installing a low-flow showerhead. Older showerheads will use 5 to 8 gpm, but a low-flow head will bring that down to 2.5 gallons or less with the same amount of water pressure and pleasant shower experience.

Some people don’t like low-flow showerheads based on past experience, but new technologies combine air and water for luxuriant “low-flow” showers. K & B Classics has many brands that deliver great showers at 1.5 pgm and it actually feels like 2.5; this can result in a 36% decrease in water usage compared to a high-flow system. (Please ask a consultant for more information.)

By installing low-flow showerheads you’ll be saving in two ways:

  • The amount of water you use while showering
  • The amount of energy you are using to heat your water.

A note on Shower Control Products – several manufacturers have devices designed to make it easier to:

  • Waste less water waiting for a shower to warm
  • Turn the shower off when soaping up
  • Take shorter showers

Water Purity and Home Health

All of the brands at Kitchen & Bath Classics are engineered with quality materials to aid in the consistent delivery of clean water, primarily with faucets designed to prevent standing water inside the faucet itself.

It’s not that easy to make the right choice.

The standard rough-in for a toilet is 12",
but it can also be 10" or 14".

We make it easy.
